The Home of the America’s Cup is looking for a full-time Club Racing Manager with a passion for Sailing, who is keen to join a vibrant Membership & Offer team with many exciting opportunities. This role will be responsible for:

  • Lead, champion, and deliver outstanding experiences on the water across our Club Racing programs.
  • In conjunction with the wider team of volunteers, Sailing Committee, Membership and Offer Manager, and General Manager deliver club racing activities all on-water sailing activities ensuring all elements for delivery are planned, communicated, and executed to the highest possible standard.
  • To be a first line of contact with club racing, skippers & sailing crew and to respect their needs with professionalism and efficiency.
  • To maximise participation in club racing events.
  • To meet annual budget targets.
  • To deliver great outcomes for members and guests racing with us.

Person Specifications – Qualifications & Experience:

  • The Club Racing Manager will have strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The Club Racing Manager will have a “can do” attitude with a focused “customer service” orientation, be self-motivated and comfortable working in a constructive and supportive, consensus environment with limited supervision.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work quickly and effectively
  • Technically savvy
  • Responds well to pressure and demonstrates resilience.
  • Be well presented in a professional manner.
  • Be persuasive and diplomatic.
  • Be flexible, works well in a team.
  • Shows initiative and promotes the club racing environment.
  • A high-level understanding of race management & the Racing Rules of Sailing, including Sailing Instructions, Notice of Race, and race compliance.

Preferred but not essential:

  • A comprehensive understanding of club dynamic with volunteers, staff and members.
  • An ability to create and deliver new and refreshing events and to work with many different groups to achieve success
  • Demonstrated understanding of sailing
