Due to the expanding business an exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Shipwright to join the leading boat syndication company in Sydney.
The role will be a full-time position based at The Spit in Mosman, Sydney, attending to the boats in our fleet across all our Sydney Marinas.
Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Structural and cosmetic fibreglass and gelcoat repairs.
- Water leak identification.
- Removal of shafts and rudders.
- Minor 12v part replacement.
- Replacing skin fittings and seacocks, shaft skeg bearings, shaft seals.
- Paint repairs.
- Through hull fitting installation and replacements.
- Teak sanding and repairs.
- Sourcing and ordering parts.
- Ability to accurately quote and estimate service work.
- Effectively complete digital job cards and timesheets, including before, during & after photos.
- Understand time frames and work hard to deliver on deadlines.
- Maintain a healthy relationship with customers, suppliers and contractors.
- Must have high attention to detail and be motivated to be the world’s best in every job you do.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
- Marine craft construction qualification
- Current NSW Boat licence
- Prepare and execute structural and cosmetic repairs
- Paint repairs and welding experience on steel, steam and high-pressure pipes to high standard
- Experience with cutting in instruments, timber repairs, plumbing repairs and maintenance, water leak identification etc
- Repair vessels using materials including fibreglass, aluminium, wood, glass, reinforced plastics, carbon fibre and concrete.
- Ensure best practices are followed and safe workmanship standards are met.
- Work independently, problem solve and be part of a very busy team.
Work Eligibility:
- Permitted to work full-time and permanently in Australia.
- Must be able to speak English fluently
- Must be able to work full time.
- $100,000 per annum depending on experience
- Immediate start.
