SeaLink’s retention of Gladstone contracts a ferry good deal

Focus remains on performance, reliability, and innovation

Following competitive tender processes, SeaLink will continue providing ferry connections to the QCLNG, GLNG and APLNG projects on Curtis Island on behalf of Shell, Santos and ConocoPhillips, under new 10-year marine services contracts.

SeaLink Marine & Tourism Chief Operating Officer Donna Gauci said retaining contracts was the greatest compliment to the company and a credit to their expert team.

“We are committed to delivering the highest quality services to our customers through reliability and innovation, and welcome validation of our strengths and experience as shown by the successful award of contracts following competitive tender processes.

“We have a global team of professionals with extensive operating knowledge in marine services management – transporting passengers, as well as freight, machinery, and medical services to and from islands.

“We’re proud to continue our partnerships with Shell, Santos and ConocoPhillips, and look forward to working with each of the companies to provide a brilliant customer service,” she said.

Each year, SeaLink moves nearly half-a-million passengers to Curtis Island, and over 3,500 semi-trailer and rigid body truck trips.

The signing of the new 10-year contract with ConocoPhillips follows SeaLink Gladstone being awarded the 2020 Supplier Recognition Award by ConocoPhillips in recognition of exemplary contribution towards ConocoPhillips’s success in managing COVID-19 risks in 2020, and continuous support and excellent performance.

“SeaLink currently has six new vessels under construction for marine service around Australia, working with clients to customise marine transport solutions for enhanced passenger comfort, logistical efficiency and environmental sustainability,” she said.

SeaLink is committed to designing more environmentally-friendly vessels, with innovative concept plans underway for lower emission vessels.

“We are committed to exploring innovative vessel designs, as we continue to work with our client partners to deliver world-class, sustainable transport solutions,” she said.
