AllOY announces first recreational boat with Autonomous Software and Electric Power

With the unveiling of their first boat renderings for the $57 billion recreational boat market, the CEO of Invincible Boats and YellowFin Boats joins the Board of Directors.

In the USA, AllOY, a revolutionary marine-tech company, is bringing autonomous technology and electric power to the recreational boating market. The first boat to be announced is a 28-foot power catamaran that features the company’s innovative helm system, ultra-wide helm screens, and full control over the boat via joystick. The most significant innovation is in the software that delivers autonomous features like auto-docking, undocking, go to point, and the ability to navigate around other boats—with more functionalities being added to the boats via regular over-the-air updates.

The company also announced the appointment of John Dorton to its Board of Directors. Mr. Dorton is the CEO of Warbird Holdings, the parent company of PE-backed Invincible Boats and YellowFin Boats and is the former President and CEO of Mastercraft Boat Company. His 25 years of experience in the recreational boat industry serves as a valuable resource and guide in the company’s mission.

Brandon Cotter

“John brings decades of boat building and leadership expertise to our board. We’re thrilled to welcome him as we enter this next stage of our development,” said Brandon Cotter, co-founder and chief executive officer of AllOY. “His vast market knowledge is invaluable to the company as we make technical advancements in an industry that is eager for modernisation.”

Mr. Dorton said of his board appointment, “I’m thrilled to join Alloy and be a part of a team that is bringing new technology to our industry. We are going to make boating even easier and safer than it is today, and ultimately bring new participants to our sport.”

Co-founded by Brandon Cotter and Powell Kinney, chief technology officer, AllOY’s mission is to simplify the boating experience and bring modern technology to all recreational boat owners. After spending the last two years developing and testing its autonomous technology, the company is releasing initial renderings of its first recreational boat on its website. The company will begin taking orders in 2023, and expects to ship first production boats in late 2024.

AllOY do not have plans for the AusPac region in the immediate future.
