E1 Unveils Racing Calendar for Inaugural Season

The world’s first all electric powerboat racing championship is gearing up for its first ever racing season, unveiling the venues which will host the stylish Race Birds and their celebrity-led teams from January 2024.

The countdown to the inaugural season of the UIM E1 World Championship has begun, with series organisers confirming that Jeddah will host the first-ever E1 race in January 2024. Developed to minimise environmental impact and maximise sustainable logistics solutions, the provisional UIM E1 World Championship racing schedule for Season One is now live.

“I’m delighted to be launching my third electric world championship and the emotions are always the same. I’m very pleased to start our calendar in Jeddah, before visiting other cities who are also aligned with our mission and passionate about E1. I’m looking forward to starting in early 2024 and good luck to all our teams!” Said Alejandro Agag, Co-Founder & Chairman of E1

Given the unique foiling characteristics of the RaceBird, all E1 events will take place close to shore, with fans and spectators able to easily view the action from land. E1 events will be held over the course of two days with practice sessions, qualifying and knockout races. Pilots will go head-to-head in a number of heats to determine who progresses to the next stage. The fastest teams and pilots will advance to the final to decide the winner.

“It’s a fantastic day for the UIM E1 Championship as we confirm our first ever racing calendar. After opening the racing in the Middle East, the action will move to Europe where we will be racing in the historic and beautiful harbours of Venice and Monaco, before culminating in the vibrant port of Rotterdam. We keep the door open on new venues for the calendar and expect to confirm very soon. It’s an exciting time for the UIM E1 Championship as we attract more teams and cities to be part of our fast-growing journey.” Said Rodi Basso, Co-Founder & CEO of E1

In the coming months, championship organisers will continue to accelerate preparations for the inaugural season, with more teams to be announced soon.
