A further $1.5 million in State Government funding is now available for public boating facility projects, through the Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme (RBFS).
The $1.5 million in funding takes the total amount allocated through the program to more than $50 million, which has helped deliver nearly 500 separate boating facility projects throughout the State.
The RBFS scheme is available to eligible authorities, including local governments, government agencies and statutory authorities with responsibility for managing public facilities.
Funds are available for the planning, construction or upgrading of boat launching ramps, jetties, moorings, breakwaters and new channels directly related to a public recreational boating facility. Land based infrastructure at public boating facilities, such as trailer parking areas, toilets and boating signage are also eligible.
Up to 75 per cent of the cost of a project is available, with the maximum grant set at $750,000.

Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said “Western Australians love to get out on the water, and with a recreational fleet of around 100,000 boats, our Government is committed to ensuring our public facilities continue to meet the needs of the community.
“The $1.5 million being made available through the next round also marks a major milestone with more than $50 million now allocated through the program, which has helped deliver nearly 500 separate projects across the State.
“The next round will ensure we continue to see the positive benefits this program has delivered, and I encourage eligible authorities to consider projects they’d like to put forward for funding.”
