Robe Lake Butler Marina, on the sou-eastern coast of South Australia, has a brand-new Crib Point 40T Straddle Carrier and will be hosting the MIA’s next Straddle Carrier Operations and Maintenance course (SCOM) on the 11th and 12th of September

  • Intermediate Marina Management Couse (IMM)

Darling Harbour, Sydney, 28 Jul – 1 Aug 2024

A four-day course residental course designed for marina managers and supervisors taking their  first steps in a career path leading to the globally recognised professional certification (CMO, CMM, CMP).

The IMM course includes topics such as action planning, emergency & environmental management, marketing, health and safety, insurance, law and leadership. Combined with a marina site tour and planning for marinas of the future, participants are able to prepare for the future needs of a marina.

For those visiting Sydney from further afield, this year’s IMM concludes on (Thursday 1st August) the opening day of the Sydney International Boat Show.

  • Advanced Marina Management Course (AMM)

Gold Coast, Seaworld Nara Resort, Queensland, 18 – 23 August 2024

This residential course will drive your management skills and thinking to a new level.  A strategic management course that will expand your skills across the broad spectrum of marina and business management.

The AMM course is a prerequsit for professional certification (CMO, CMM, CMP) and offers its graduates both a national and international business perspective on management issues, and a long-term network of international contacts to rely on in the future. Topics covered include strategic planning, financial management, capital planning, marina design and contruction, managing for profit and working with contractors and tenants.

The course concludes with a challenging, yet rewarding capstone projects that requires participants to use their learnings to develop a master plan for the redesign of an existing marina facility which will be inspected by participants prior to commencement of the project.
