Spirit Marine will be unveiling the newly launched Antares 9 Version 2 from Beneteau’s iconic Antares line at this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, celebrating its release into the Australian market.
Designed for family cruising and water sports with friends, the Antares 9 Version 2 embodies the spirit of the modern weekender and represents a significant upgrade on the earlier model. That’s why Spirit Marine has chosen to showcase the new release at the show, held from 22 to 25 May.
Spirit Marine founder Peter Nicholson said he is looking forward to taking part in SCIBS, which celebrates the boating lifestyle, and feels it is the perfect venue for showcasing the Antares 9 Version 2. The vessel is particularly suited to the next generation of boaters targeted by the event.
“SCIBS is one of the highlights of the Australian boating calendar, which is why we chose it to showcase the Antares 9 Version 2. It appeals to boaters seeking vessels that offer accessible coastal cruising,” said Mr Nicholson.
“As one of Beneteau’s leading partners in the Asia-Pacific region, Spirit Marine believes SCIBS provides the ideal location to present one of the world’s most iconic boating brands. Our team will be joined by representatives from Beneteau to showcase a selection of their yachts, sailboats, and day vessels to the tens of thousands attending SCIBS. We’re excited to be participating in the event once again.”
Spirit Marine is a leading Australian bespoke boat dealer with operations spanning Queensland and serves as Beneteau’s Queensland partner for both their outboard power and sailboat ranges—including the highly successful Antares line, which targets the cruiser market.
The newly released Antares 9 Version 2 marks a significant evolution in Beneteau’s iconic Antares line, reinforcing the French builder’s reputation for innovation in the compact cruiser market.
Designed for versatility, comfort, and performance, the Antares 9 Version 2 blends the spirit of a family-friendly weekender with features typically found in larger vessels—such as a spacious saloon, two double cabins, and a fully equipped galley.
With a sleek, modern design and improved seakeeping capabilities, the Antares 9 Version 2 positions Beneteau to appeal to a new generation of boaters seeking accessible coastal cruising without compromise. Upgraded twin 250hp Mercury outboard engines and joystick options deliver a significant boost in power and manoeuvrability.
The model also underscores the brand’s ongoing commitment to balancing innovation with tradition in the 8- to 10-metre segment.
