After more than five decades in the marine engineering sector and over 15 years leading Adit Marine Pty Ltd, industry stalwart Greg Maxwell has made the decision to list his innovative business for sale.
Founded in 2009, Adit Marine was born from Greg’s vision to solve a critical challenge faced by boat owners: the harmful effects of saltwater on marine engines and systems.
Drawing on his early career with the Royal Australian Navy—where he began his engineering apprenticeship in 1974—Greg developed and commercialised a pioneering fresh water flushing system designed to protect inboard engines, generators, and air-conditioning units from salt-induced corrosion and blockages.
“Our systems are built to suit everything from a 20hp engine up to a 10,000hp engine, with hose sizes from half an inch to six inches,” said Greg. “For large engines, we’ve even made it possible to flush using onboard water tanks, all controlled via mobile phone.”
Over the years, Adit Marine’s robust, stainless-steel flushing systems have earned a reputation for quality and reliability, attracting clients from recreational boaters to commercial fleets and even the Royal Australian Navy. With patents in place and no direct competitors offering the same standard of product, the business is uniquely positioned for further growth.
Included in the sale are all remaining stock, assembly equipment, racking, intellectual property rights, goodwill, and two months of hands-on training from Greg himself to ensure a seamless transition.
