The Next Oil Spill Response Course
Virtual Session (Part B), 19 June, 2pm – 4pm AEST
Oil spills can happen anytime, and being prepared makes all the difference. This essential course equips marina staff with the skills needed to respond quickly and safely to oil and chemical spills, using real industry case studies and practical demonstrations.
The course is delivered in two parts:
- Part A:
Self-paced online module (1–2 hours) covering marina case studies, legal requirements, spill response equipment, chemical hazards, and documentation. This must be completed before attending the live session.
- Part B:
Live 2-hour virtual session via Zoom with an experienced industry presenter. The session explores real-life spill scenarios, how to set up and use spill kits, and your WHS and environmental responsibilities.
Participants will gain valuable knowledge to enhance spill response readiness and environmental safety at their marina. A certificate is issued upon completion.

Emergency Preparedness Course
Virtual Session (Part B), 24 July, 2pm – 4pm AEST
Supported by Nautilus Marine Insurance, this course is essential for all marina and boatyard employees. It uses real industry case studies and videos to help staff prepare for emergencies.
The course is delivered in two parts:

Self-paced online module (1–2 hours) covering emergency case studies, legal requirements, hazard identification, and emergency plan development. This must be completed before attending the live session.

Part B:
Live 2-hour virtual session with an experienced industry professional. This interactive session explores emergency scenarios and encourages group discussions to build practical skills.
You’ll learn about emergency risk assessments, developing and implementing response plans, and best practices for managing emergencies safely.
Upon completion, participants receive a certificate and gain valuable knowledge to enhance safety and emergency readiness at their marina.
