An investigation is underway following a jet ski crash in Sydney’s south.
Just after 6pm today (Tuesday 22 July 2025), emergency services were called to the Georges River at Tom Uglys Bridge, Sylvania, following reports of persons in the water.
Officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command were told a jet ski had possibly crashed, leaving persons in the water.
A 15-year-old boy was found deceased in the water and was unable to be revived.
A 14-year-old boy was treated at the scene for a severed arm, before being taken to Sydney Children’s hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics in a serious condition.
A crime scene has been established and investigations commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
