Course Wrap-Up: Intermediate Marina Manager Course Sydney 2025

Earlier this month, the stunning Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) in Pittwater played host to the Intermediate Marina Manager (IMM) course, welcoming 17 passionate marina professionals from Australia and New Zealand.

Running from 28–31 July, this immersive, four-day course brought together a diverse group of participants with backgrounds spanning marina operations, environmental management, customer service, and business leadership. The result was an incredibly engaged and dynamic cohort, keen to learn, collaborate and contribute to the ongoing advancement of the marina industry.

MIA extend a warm thank you to RPAYC for generous hospitality and for providing such a picturesque and professional venue throughout the week.

Participants had the unique opportunity to tour Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, Royal Motor Yacht Club Broken Bay, and The Quays Marina. Each marina showcased incredible facilities, each with its own challenges and standout features. As part of the program, participants were divided into groups and tasked with developing a value-add project for their assigned marina. The creativity and strategic thinking demonstrated during this group work was outstanding—so much so that the winning idea may soon be implemented by one of the marinas!

The networking and peer-to-peer learning that took place throughout the course were truly invaluable. MIA say they hope all participants have come away not only with enhanced skills and industry knowledge but also with lifelong connections and friendships.

MIA extend thanks to the dedicated guest presenters who volunteered their time, insight and expertise to support the next generation of marina leaders. MIA say the contributions were invaluable and deeply appreciated: Jayson McDonald CMM, Bruce Birtwistle CMP, Peter Moxham CMM, Stephen Hosking CMM, Matt Hundley CMM, Kylie Brown CMM, Suzanne Davies, Nicole Douglass, Louie Ralevski and Chris Stone.

The IMM course continues to play a key role in building capability across the industry, and this latest cohort has shown that the future of marina management is in capable hands.
