Australian leading marine infrastructure provider, Marine Structures, has announced the completion of a multi-million-dollar marina replacement at Coffs Harbour – delivering a world-class boating facility on the NSW coast.
The transformative project has upgraded the existing infrastructure to provide a modern, attractive, and highly functional facility that meets international best practice in marina design. Boaters and visitors alike will benefit from improved safety, security, and serviceability, alongside a significantly enhanced waterfront experience.
The redevelopment included the replacement of five marina arms and the installation of 143 new berths designed to accommodate vessels ranging from 10 to 30 metres.
The scope of works included detailed design and engineering, demolition and safe disposal of the existing gangways and pontoons, and installation of new concrete deck pontoons with GFRP reinforcement. Additional works involved piling, service pedestals, fire services and the construction of modern gangways with secure access gates.
Marine Structures Director, Jacob Morris explains that the delivery of this project sets a new standard for regional marinas in New South Wales. “This upgrade has been about more than replacing infrastructure – it’s about creating a safe, modern and sustainable facility that the boating community can be proud of. By combining innovative design with cutting-edge manufacturing, we’ve ensured Coffs Harbour Marina will serve the community and visiting vessels for decades to come.”
Coffs Harbour Co-Director, Kevin Miller welcomed the completion of the works and the benefits it brings to the city’s growing boating community.
“We’ve been delighted with the co-operative approach by the Marine Structures team, solving problems as they arose in a conciliatory and positive manner.
This project has transformed the marina into a first-class facility, one that reflects the coastline’s vibrancy and the needs of today’s boaters.
The state-of-the-art facility elevates Coffs Harbour’s profile as a leading destination for boaters along the NSW coast. We are now working with Zeal Marinas to build a marketing campaign that showcases the new facility and rolls out the welcome mat to the cruising boating community”.
By completing this landmark project, Marine Structures once again demonstrates its capability to deliver high-quality marine infrastructure. ‘We’re thrilled with what this project has accomplished,’ Morris concluded.
