The Axopar Effect: How Eyachts Built One of Australia’s Most Active Boating Communities

Every year, Axopar owners from across Australia come together for a day on the water known as the Axoparty, and it has quickly grown into a signature event in the Australian boating calendar. In March this year, Eyachts hosted a WA Axoparty which saw 12 Axopars heading to Rottnest Island and in October, more than twenty Axopars formed a convoy from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River, finishing the day with a long lunch at Peats Bite.

The plan was simple. Meet in the harbour. Run offshore together at speed. Cruise into Pittwater and then weave up the river to one of the most iconic boat-access-only restaurants on the east coast. But what made it special was not just the route. It was the feeling of being part of something. More than eighty people attended this year. Some travelled interstate to join, coming without their boats, simply because they did not want to miss it.

There are now more than 350 Axopar owners in Australia, only ten years since the brands inception. The momentum behind this brand is not an accident. It is a reflection of how Australians like to boat: with adventure, simplicity and confidence.

Born for Australian Conditions

Australia’s coastline is vast, exposed, and unpredictable. To enjoy it, you need a boat that feels surefooted offshore, efficient over distance, and easy to run confidently without crew. This is where Axopar has found its place here. The twin-step deep-V hull design is known for stability, fuel efficiency and comfort at sea.

Owners Raina and Stephen described it perfectly on the day: “Axopar is a dream boat. It’s they’re really easy to handle. You don’t need to have too much experience or expertise. You can get in and they’re so stable and so fast, the hull shape is is really unique.”

Talking about the convoy, Joe Fox from Eyachts emphasised: “We have everything from Axopar 22s all the way up to our flagship model, Axopar 45. It’s quite something when you have over 20 boats traveling at 40 knots. It’s incredible to see the whole fleet of Axopars absolutely hammering it down the Hawksbury. I know everyone on board has had an awesome trip.”

The Community That Keeps Growing

More than any specification or speed number, the sense of community is what has shaped the Axopar culture in Australia. At these events, owners jump on each other’s boats. They share tips. They stay in touch. The Axoparty simply brings this energy into one place.

As Jasmyn, an Axopar 37 owner, said at the event: “We have met the most incredible people from all over Sydney. The community is honestly the best part. Eyachts brings people together. It feels like joining a family.”

Another owner, Graeme, who owns an Axopar 29, summed it up this way: “There’s not many brands that could do what this brand can do where they can turn around and say, ‘We’ve got 20 boats that come from Sydney Harbour to Pittwater.’ It just doesn’t happen.”

Eyachts: Leading the Adventure Movement

When Eyachts first introduced Axopar to Australia, the idea of a modern day boat was almost unfamiliar. People would ask, “What do you use that for?” The answer became clear over time. These boats were never about sitting still. They were built for discovering hidden coves, running offshore at speed, meeting friends on the water, and making the most of every weekend.

In just ten years, Axopar has not only found its place here, it has shaped a new category. The term “Adventure boat” is now part of the Australian boating vocabulary. It describes the range perfectly: go-anywhere, do-anything, capable and fun. Eyachts does not just sell these boats. They built a culture around them.

Russell Ayers, Axopar Brand Manager, added: “The Axoparty is exactly what these boats were designed for. Travelling safely and comfortably so you can spend more time with the people you enjoy being on the water with. It is not about the boat, it is about the days like this.”

Peter Hrones, Managing Director of Eyachts, reflected as the fleet lined up at Peats Bite: “When we introduced Axopar to Australia, we hoped there were people who wanted to boat this way. Fast, capable, social, and adventurous. Seeing the community now, that is the real success.”

The Future Looks Even Bigger

With more Axopars arriving into the country, more planned owner events, and a strong group of new and long-term owners ready to keep exploring, the Axopar community in Australia is only getting stronger. The Axoparty will return again next year. The route may change, but the feeling will be the same.

Freedom. Adventure. Friendship.

This is what boating in Australia looks like now with Axopar.
