Yabby Street (One Mile) Jetty repairs completed

Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) has completed essential maintenance works on the Yabby Street Jetty at One Mile, Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).

The project commenced in mid-July 2025 to ensure the jetty remains in safe and reliable condition for the island’s boating and fishing community.

Works delivered by local contractor Mitchell Marine included:

  • repairs to the jetty’s concrete decking soffit and surface
  • repairs to the stairwell landings
  • piling works and minor fencing upgrades
  • repairs to the existing berthing pontoon system that was damaged during Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

For public safety, the jetty was temporarily closed during the maintenance period, with recreational boating access maintained via the adjacent One Mile Pontoon.

This important upgrade will help ensure the jetty remains safe, functional, and fit for purpose for all users into the future.

MSQ thanks the community for their patience during the works and is pleased to advise the jetty has now reopened for public use.
