Incat Tasmania & AWBF: Behind the scenes and on the water

Some of what makes Australian Wooden Boat Festival possible is highly visible. Some of it happens quietly in the background.

Incat Tasmania is part of both.

Since coming on board with AWBF officially in 2022, Incat Tasmania has supported the festival in ways that are both practical and on the water, including the construction of pontoons used across the event.

Did you know? Incat Tasmania provides year-round storage for AWBF, including the container that carried our exhibition to the Auckland Wooden Boat Festival.

In 2025, they also introduced the Incat Floating Stage, a purpose-built platform for live music and performance on the waterfront. It will return in 2027.

As one of the world’s leading shipbuilders, Incat Tasmania is known for designing and building high-speed vessels used around the globe, including the world’s largest battery-electric ferry, helping lead the transition toward more sustainable maritime transport.

A big thank you to the team at Incat Tasmania for their continued support of the Australian Wooden Boat Festival, from behind-the-scenes contributions to the infrastructure that helps bring the waterfront to life.
