At last week’s AGM, at which 83 Members attended, the new Board of the Cruising Yacht Club was elected.

Dr. Sam Haynes hands over the Commodore’s role, having led the Club over the last two years. Taking the helm as Commodore is David Jacobs, who moves up from Vice Commodore after two years chairing the Sailing Committee. Peter Gothard steps up to Vice Commodore from Rear Commodore, Jules Hall steps up to Rear Commodore from Treasurer, and Greg Antipas assumes the role of Treasurer.
Prof. Sarah Hosking, Craig Neil and Amanda Cook continue as Directors, and they’re joined by two new additions: Nicola Wakefield Evans AM, who sailed her first Rolex Sydney Hobart last December and chairs our Women in Sailing Working Group, and Bradshaw Kellett, a previous Rear Commodore and the youngest sailor to complete 34 consecutive Hobarts.
CYCA also thank Tom Barker, who steps down from the Board this year, for his time and contribution.
For the next year, the Chairs of our Board Committees are:
Sailing Committee: Peter Gothard
Audit, Planning & Risk Committee: Greg Antipas
Premises: Jules Hall
Member Engagement Committee: Amanda Cook
