The Queensland Government, in partnership with Redland City Council, is undertaking maintenance bed levelling at Cleveland’s Toondah Harbour, and One Mile, Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island (Minjerribah) to support safe and efficient vessel navigation.
The works will redistribute naturally accumulated sand and silt to create a more consistent channel profile, improve navigable depths and address high spots and shoaling which will improve access and safety for recreational and commercial waterway users.
Maritime Safety Queensland will deliver the works, which have now commenced at Toondah Harbour, with completion expected soon.
Works at One Mile, Dunwich are about to begin, with all works expected to be completed by late October 2026, weather and site conditions permitting.
Maintaining safe access will remain a priority throughout the works, with traffic management and safety measures in place to manage vessel movements and minimise disruption.
All works will comply with relevant Maritime Safety Queensland approvals, environmental requirements and industry best-practice standards.
The Queensland Government and Redland City Council are committed to delivering the works safely and efficiently to support ongoing navigation, access and the long-term operation of local maritime infrastructure.
