The Australian Commercial Marine Group (ACMG) has supported Sydney Harbour’s commercial vessel operators throughout Vivid Sydney 2025 by delivering a series of on-water fireworks displays to boost passenger ticket sales and enhance the onboard experience.
As the national industry body representing commercial marine operators, many of whom operate on Sydney Harbour, ACMG works closely with Banks Events to coordinate the on-water components of major events including New Year’s Eve, Australia Day and Vivid Sydney.
In response to feedback from members and the absence of drone shows this year, which had previously drawn strong crowds, ACMG collaborated with operating companies to introduce a new schedule of fireworks displays across nine key nights during Vivid. These shows were strategically positioned east of Fort Denison and designed to be viewed from the water, encouraging increased ticket sales and stronger engagement for commercial charter operators.
Funded by the participating member vessels and ACMG, the fireworks helped drive visibility and support for member businesses, contributing to a successful Vivid Sydney period despite a more challenging operating environment in the winter months.
Special acknowledgement goes to the following vessels for their participation in the inaugural Vivid Fireworks Display; Australian Cruise Group, Coast Cruises, Fantasea Cruising, Fusion Cruises, Good Times Harbour Cruises, Hamptons Sydney, Inception Cruises, Journey Beyond Cruises, Oz Jet Boating, SeaLink / Captain Cook Cruises, Sydney Harbour Attractions, Sydney Heritage Fleet, Sydney Princess Cruises and Vagabond.
ACMG remains committed to championing the commercial marine sector and supporting operators to thrive during major public events across Australia, all year round.
