The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) has announced the launch of its new online application portal, myAMSA, marking a significant step forward in modernising services and improving accessibility for seafarers.

Designed to meet the expectations of today’s digital environment, myAMSA streamlines the application process for a range of services, including near coastal certificate of competency applications, which can now be completed entirely online.
The shift to digital lodgement removes the need for applicants to travel to a post office, offering a faster and more convenient experience. To ensure secure identity verification, myAMSA integrates with the Australian Government’s myID Digital ID app, managed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Applicants who have not yet created a myID account can follow the ATO’s simple setup guide.
Through myAMSA, seafarers can now apply, submit and track their applications online, providing greater transparency and efficiency throughout the process.
