Introducing Boaters Marketplace: A new way to connect Victorians with trusted BIAV members
BIAV has launched Boaters Marketplace, a new consumer platform connecting Victorian boaters with trusted BIAV member businesses.
Every BIAV member receives a complimentary listing, with BIAV actively promoting the platform through digital advertising, social media, email marketing, public relations and its extensive boat show audiences to drive enquiries, leads and sales.
Developed with valuable feedback from BIAV members, Boaters Marketplace will continue to evolve through ongoing enhancements as it grows. By making it easier for consumers to connect with trusted marine businesses, Boaters Marketplace represents another way BIAV is investing in the future of Victoria’s boating industry.
Businesses that are not already BIAV members and are interested in listing on Boaters Marketplace are encouraged to contact BIAV for further information.
Nominate an Outstanding Marine Apprentice
Nominations are now open for the Boating Careers KGM Australia Apprentice of the Year Awards 2026, recognising the talented apprentices helping shape the future of Australia’s marine industry.
Awards will be presented across three categories:
- Marine Mechanical Apprentice of the Year
- Boat Building Apprentice of the Year
- Marine Trimming Apprentice of the Year
One finalist will also be named the KGM Overall Apprentice of the Year 2026, while an outstanding employer will be recognised through the Boating Careers Apprentice Employer of the Year Award.
KGM Australia returns as Major Sponsor, with category support from Kangan Institute, Holmesglen Institute and the Australian Institute of Engineering.
Winners will be announced at the Melbourne Boat Show on Saturday, 17 October 2026. Businesses that have employed an apprentice who deserves industry recognition are encouraged to nominate them for an award HERE.
Boating Careers Ambassador Toolkit
Boating Careers has launched a new Ambassador Toolkit to help careers advisers, teachers, LLENs, youth workers and community organisations confidently introduce young people to career opportunities within the boating industry, even without prior industry knowledge.
The practical 26-page guide includes marine trade profiles, salary information, conversation guides, frequently asked questions, student handouts and other useful resources.
BIAV members are encouraged to share the toolkit with schools, careers advisers and youth organisations in their local networks, helping more young people discover the diverse pathways available across the industry.
