One Ocean Week Seattle returns for second year

Maritime Blue is set to host the return of One Ocean Week Seattle, an international gathering bringing together ocean leaders, innovators and policymakers from around the world to advance a sustainable and inclusive maritime future. Taking place October 19–25, 2026, One Ocean Week Seattle will feature summits, technology demonstrations, and workforce development programming, with direct opportunities to connect with investors and industry decision-makers.

Following an inaugural U.S. edition of One Ocean Week that drew more than 1,200 registrants from 15 countries across more than 50 events, One Ocean Week Seattle returns with an increased focus on moving ideas toward implementation. Programming will help turn collaboration into action, through new partnerships, policy engagement, and investment, building on the relationships and momentum established in 2025.

“The Pacific Northwest has become one of the most important places in the world for ocean innovation,” said Joshua Berger, founder and president/CEO of Maritime Blue. “One Ocean Week Seattle is our chance to make that visible, and to connect people building solutions with the partners and investors who can help them succeed. We’re proud to stand alongside other ocean innovation hubs around the world in doing this work together.”

At the centre of the week’s programming is the One Ocean Week Seattle Summit, where leaders will tackle four questions shaping the future of the global Blue Economy:

International engagement amid geopolitical unrest: How countries, regions, and organisations can continue working together on shared ocean challenges amid growing geopolitical uncertainty.

The ocean finance gap: What is needed to unlock the public and private capital required to move promising ocean technologies and projects from concept to scale.

The ocean’s communications challenge: How the sector can elevate issues critical to the ocean, global commerce, climate, food systems, and communities and communicate their urgency more effectively.

What real collaboration looks like: How cross-sector relationships can translate into lasting partnerships, projects, investment, policy movement, and measurable outcomes.

One Ocean Week Seattle will also create opportunities to experience innovation in action and connect people across the Blue Economy. Blue Horizons: The One Ocean Innovation Showcase and Exhibition will bring together startups, researchers, investors and industry leaders to showcase emerging maritime and ocean technologies and build connections around investment, partnerships and market growth. Sound Day is an interactive learning experience that will connect youth with career pathways throughout the Blue Economy.

Other One Ocean Week Seattle programming will explore maritime decarbonisation, sustainable seafood, renewable ocean energy, digital transformation, and working waterfronts, highlighting how innovation, policy, capital, and workforce development intersect across the Blue Economy.

“The challenges facing our ocean are too complex for any one sector to solve alone,” said Daniel Pulse, chief financial officer and chief growth officer of Maritime Blue. “One Ocean Week Seattle creates a space for leaders to exchange ideas, identify opportunities to work together, and create pathways for promising solutions to become real-world progress.”
