OMAYA Yachts shared plans for the launch of its new OMAYA 53, a 53ft power catamaran designed to deliver the space, comfort and flexibility traditionally associated with significantly larger yachts.
The new model was announced by the brand to the international yachting market with OMAYA Yachts CEO Kaloyan Radulov meeting with media at the show to discuss the new vessel and the company’s latest development.
Building on the space-first philosophy established by the OMAYA 50, the OMAYA 53 has been developed around a simple objective: to provide owners with more usable living space and greater freedom in how they use their yacht.
Rather than simply adding length, OMAYA has concentrated the additional length at the transom, enabling the engine room and technical spaces to be moved further aft. This creates additional accommodation volume below deck, improves separation between the owner’s sleeping area and machinery, and allows for a larger, aft cockpit allowing freedom of choice of how you want to use it.
Combined with an 8.39m beam, the result is a yacht designed around long stays aboard, socialising and a closer connection with the water.

At the heart of the OMAYA 53 is a deliberately flexible approach to outdoor living. The enlarged aft cockpit is designed as a broad, flat living area that can be configured for lounging, dining, sunbathing or socialising, rather than being dictated by fixed furniture. At the stern, a new high-low bathing platform can sit flush with the main deck, align with the lower transom level or submerge by around 0.5m to provide direct access to the water. With an approximate 400kg payload, the platform can also accommodate a tender or jet ski.
Together, these features create a continuous relationship between the saloon, aft cockpit, transom and water, allowing the stern to transition between social space, outdoor living area, tender and toy handling zone and swimming platform.
The same philosophy extends to the flybridge, where fixed sunbeds have been removed from much of the deck to create a larger open area that can be configured with mobile furniture according to how owners want to use the space.
Moving the machinery further aft has also allowed OMAYA to significantly rethink the accommodation. The owner version features a complete port hull dedicated to the owner’s suite, with a larger cabin and walk-around bed positioned to face the hull-side windows and the water. Two guest cabins occupy the starboard hull, each with its own en-suite bathroom, while a dedicated skipper/crew cabin is also provided.
For the premium charter market, the OMAYA 53 is available with a four-cabin configuration, with four more equal en-suite guest cabins. All cabins feature walk-around beds positioned oriented towards the hull-side windows, reinforcing the yacht’s emphasis on space, light and connection with the surroundings.
The OMAYA 53 is the first model in the OMAYA range planned around Volvo Penta IPS propulsion, with twin D6-IPS400 engines forming the planned standard configuration. More powerful D6-IPS450, D6-IPS500, D6-IPS600 and D6-IPS650 options are also planned.
Current engineering calculations project a maximum speed of 23 knots, cruising speed of 15 knots and cruising range of 650 nautical miles. These figures remain subject to validation through sea trials on the first yacht.
The yacht measures 16.03m overall, with an 8.39m beam and 1.05m draft. Construction uses vinyl ester and glass fibre with carbon reinforcement where structurally required, alongside vacuum-infused composite structures, in-house CNC capability, plug and mould production and an in-house furniture workshop.
The OMAYA 53 has been developed primarily for private owners and families seeking substantial living space and a home-like level of comfort for extended periods aboard, without necessarily stepping up to the ownership footprint of a considerably larger yacht. At the same time, its four-cabin configuration strengthens OMAYA’s proposition in the premium charter market, providing four equal guest suites alongside dedicated crew accommodation.
Design and naval architecture for the OMAYA 53 have been developed as an in-house evolution of the OMAYA 50 platform which was developed by iYacht.
With its combination of exceptional beam, adaptable living spaces, enhanced accommodation and direct access to the water, the OMAYA 53 marks a new evolution of OMAYA’s space-first approach, offering owners the opportunity to experience larger-yacht liveability without automatically moving into a much larger platform.
