Mercury and Club Marine have renewed their long-standing agreement, continuing a successful partnership that has served Australian boat owners since 2012.

Under the agreement, participating Mercury dealers can assist customers with their insurance needs as a convenient one-stop, point-of-sale solution. Club Marine CEO Tim Wiles said the renewed agreement reflects the strong and enduring relationship between two of Australia’s most respected marine brands.
“Club Marine and Mercury have worked together for over a decade because we share a strong commitment to supporting boaters and making boat ownership as straightforward and stress-free as possible,” Mr Wiles said.
“One of the real strengths of Mercury Insurance is convenience. When somebody is buying a boat, the Mercury dealer is often the person who knows that hull, engine, trailer and equipment package better than anyone.
“Being able to discuss insurance as part of that buying process helps ensure the relevant details of the package are captured from the outset.”
Mercury Finance & Insurance General Manager Trevor Hutchings said dealers also appreciated being able to offer another vital service alongside the purchase and maintenance of their engines and boats.
“Insurance is an important part of getting a new boat on the water, so being able to assist with that at dealership level makes the buying experience simpler and more convenient,” Mr Hutchings said.
“Essentially, we combine our boating expertise with that of a specialist marine insurance provider that understands the needs of recreational boaties. It has worked well for our customers and dealers since 2012, so we’re very pleased to continue the partnership.”
Mercury Insurance coverage is tailored to Mercury owners and includes replacement cover for qualifying new boats that are declared a total loss within the first three years, as well as the use of Mercury genuine parts for eligible motor repairs, where available. Full eligibility conditions and terms are outlined in the PDS.
Policyholders also have access to Club Marine member benefits, including Club Marine Assist, which provides 24/7 Member Assist and roadside assistance. Other options include monthly payments, online claims lodgment, choice of repairer subject to policy conditions and flexible lay-up periods for eligible trailerable boats.
Mr Wiles said the agreement was also an important part of Club Marine’s broader connection with the marine industry.
“Our relationship with Mercury gives Club Marine another direct connection with people at the coalface – in the dealership,” he said. “It benefits the dealer and, most importantly, the boat owner. We’re delighted to be continuing it.”
