Aerot® is a telescopic oar innovation from Finland, backed by a 10-year warranty — the longest warranty on the market for oars designed for traditional recreational rowing boats.
No other oar in the traditional recreational rowing-boat market combines telescopic adjustability, an aluminium-composite structure and modular, replaceable components. Aerot® adjusts to different boats and rowers and is available with either a 17 mm or a 1/2-inch oarlock pin.
Aerot® is designed for people who row for recreation, exercise and everyday boating. It is not a racing oar for professional crews. Its purpose is to give ordinary rowers practical features that have not previously been available together in a traditional boat oar: adjustable length, ergonomic handle options, low-maintenance materials and the ability to replace individual components.
The modular design makes repairability part of the product’s sustainability. If a component is damaged or worn, that part can be replaced while the rest of the oar stays in use. Aerot® is built to be repaired, not discarded when one part needs attention. Its aluminium-composite construction requires no varnishing, and its compact package makes storage and transport easier.
Aerot® costs around three to four times as much as a basic wooden oar in many markets.
For everyday rowers, the added value is an oar that can be adjusted for different boats and users, requires little upkeep and can be kept in service through replaceable parts.
These qualities also make Aerot® well suited to rental fl eets. Oars used by many people can take a beating; with replacement components available, operators can keep their equipment working without replacing an entire oar whenever a part is damaged.
Now in its fourth development version, Aerot® has evolved through four years of development and feedback from real users. More than 3,000 pairs have been sold across its earlier versions during that time. The production-ready oars are now available for international distribution.
