World class boat builder Haines Hunter offers superior working conditions in a new facility and is based in the western region of Melbourne. Haines Hunter is seeking a Shipwright to join our team.
Qualifications & experience
- Previous fibreglass experience essential
- Shipwright ticket advantageous but definitely NOT essential
- Common sense and good work ethic a must
- Must take pride in your work
- Must have shipwright experience, comprehensive knowledge of shipwright techniques including fibreglass.
- Must have Drivers licence
Tasks & responsibilities
- This fulltime position includes Detailing and Assistance in Assembly.
- Fibreglass/gelcoat repairs, resprays and all shipwright work.
- You will be working in our After-Care Centre, on repairs and custom fit outs.
- Be responsible to complete a given job within a time frame.
- Be 100% committed to a safe and tidy work environment
- A knowledge of power tools and a keen eye for detail along with a strong passion for boats is mandatory.
This position also comes with an opportunity to learn other skills within the boat construction industry. This role reports directly to the factory supervisor. You will be required to have a positive team focused attitude with the ability to operate on your own when required.
Any boat building or marine associated experience will be an advantage to the applicant. A trade background in the spray paint, fibre glassing or Carpentry industry would also prove to be an advantage as will an eye for detail.
This position has the opportunity to offer a secure long-term position with a negotiated wage within the bracket indicated based on the applicant’s experience, attitude and attendance.
