SOLD! Horizon Yachts First FD90 With Spilt-Use Skylounge

A new Horizon FD90 has launched and made her debut at FLIBS. Boasting a four-stateroom-plus-multi-use-laundry-room layout, with spacious crew quarters and a storage garage, this popular Fast Displacement (FD) Series model by Cor D. Rover features a high-volume interior that affords the space and layout found aboard much larger builds. Notably, this is the first FD90 to be configured with a split-use skylounge, which extends the outdoor entertainment area on the bridge deck level while maintaining the popular indoor seating area.

With over 25 builds launched and sold to date, the FD90 model is the most successful in the FD Series. Nestled between the mid-range FD75 and FD80 models and the superyacht FD100, FD110, and FD125 models, the FD90 offers the best of “both worlds” for the owner looking for ample onboard living space and superyacht amenities in a smaller footprint.

From the main deck aft – which features a Hi/Lo teak coffee/dining table with convertible functionality, a wet bar, and a 43” fold-down television – side decks to port and starboard lead to a side dining/galley entrance or to stairs up to the foredeck, respectively. Large sliding glass doors welcome guests into the main salon, where a dayhead is positioned aft to starboard opposite a spacious L-shaped lounge area with built-in glassware storage. The interior exudes a calm and sophisticated atmosphere, with washed wenge complemented by silk grey lacquer accents, European oak brushed floors, and contrasting colors that define a modern style with subtle and distinct textures.

An open galley on the main deck is another first for this model. Situated forward of the multifunctional dining area, which features a table for ten highlighted by a Spanish alabaster droplight, the galley is well-equipped, with plentiful counter space and natural lighting. A Hi/Lo partition of laminated silk glass in the island offers privacy for the chef when guests are in the salon and dining area. When open, the space seamlessly blends with the rest of the guest areas, thanks to its Cambria Brittanicca stonework and striped metal coverings that enhance the style of the large refrigeration and freezer units.

Situated forward on the same deck, the full-beam master suite is bathed in natural light from its large windows and immediately conveys an elegant and spacious appearance. The his-and-hers ensuite is situated forward, behind a TV wall, while a raised vanity is positioned to starboard, and a built-in royal window lounge chair to port. A full-length vinyl headboard panel with stitching offers a luxurious and minimalist look that is complemented by the washed wenge ceiling design.

From the main deck, the starboard-side foyer houses the stairwell that leads to the bridge deck above and to the guest staterooms on the lower deck. The tempered clear glass stairs and faux marble wall create a luxurious feel when transitioning to the lower deck, where three gracious staterooms are positioned, including port and starboard VIPs and a third VIP in the bow. Another thoughtful and unique design feature aboard this particular FD90 is the multifunctional laundry room that converts to a spare cabin when needed. This versatile space offers laundry, wardrobes, a pull-out ironing board and a Pullman berth as well as a full head with shower.

Aft of the engine room housing the yacht’s twin CAT C32A engines of 1,900hp each, crew quarters for up to five as well as a crew mess lead aft to the garage, which is equipped with a washer/dryer and plenty of storage for watersports toys.

The bridge deck aboard the new FD90 is an enviable space, particularly as this is the first FD90 to feature the split-use skylounge configuration. Black leather and satin washed wenge create a sophisticated atmosphere in the wheelhouse, which features twin helm chairs and a raised L-shaped dinette with an extendable sofa. This enclosed area offers a window and door to the split-use skylounge, which is occupied by a U-shaped sofa with a folding table and a full bar with four stools at the translucent Corian White Onyx countertop, a fold-down television under the hardtop, and opening windows to port and starboard.

Further aft, a BBQ grill and dual lounge seating areas each accommodating up to 14 people create the perfect space for relaxation that can be shaded with a sun awning. Another signature feature of the FD Series designs, the foredeck area has been maximized for guest enjoyment, with a U-shaped dinette forward of the wheelhouse and fold-up sunpads. This area is also equipped to be shaded with a sun awning.

This FD90 was recently sold at FLIBS shortly after making her debut.
