On the 19th of November, The Governor spent the morning at Two Rocks, thanking the volunteers from across Volunteer Marine Rescue WA (VRMWA) that dedicate their time to protecting the lives of our boating community.
With volunteers from Mandurah, Lancelin and Two Rocks coming together, the Governor heard how valuable their work is as they recounted many of their experiences out on the water and of their preparations for the busy summer period.
The Governor also took the opportunity to board the new locally built rescue vessel named ‘Neptune’, which was launched in May and replaces the group’s 18-year-old Sea Guardian II.
Beginning in the 1970’s, VMRWA has member groups all around the state from Esperance in the south to Wyndham in the north. There are 39 member groups and more than 1400 volunteers in WA.
