Volunteers from two more Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR) units have voted to join Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ).
VMR Bowen will join MRQ the week of 7 July 2025, along with its 25 volunteers, while VMR Whitsunday and its 55 volunteers will become part of MRQ the week of 14 July 2025.
Once transitioned, the units will be known as MRQ Bowen and MRQ Whitsunday. The MRQ team looks forward to welcoming another two VMR units to the family.
