The Queensland Government and Redland City Council (RCC) are jointly funding a new recreational boating facility at Wallaby Road, Redland Bay.
This project will deliver priority marine infrastructure for the Redlands, providing improved access to Southern Moreton Bay waters for the growing community.

The site for the new Wallaby Road boating facility.
Maritime Safety Queensland will lead the delivery of the project, funding the in-water elements, while RCC will contribute to the landside works, including a dedicated canoe ramp lane. RCC also secured the land at Wallaby Road to enable this vital project.
The new facility will feature:
- A two-lane boat ramp with near all-tide access.
- A centralised floating walkway.
- A dedicated canoe ramp lane on the far right-hand side.
- Canoe racks to support safe and convenient use by paddlers.
- An access road, car-trailer parking, and a turnaround area.
The inclusion of a dedicated canoe ramp, proposed by RCC, highlights the project’s focus on catering to a diverse range of water users.
The construction contract has been awarded to South East Queensland-based marine contractor Australian Marine and Civil. Onsite works are scheduled to commence in November 2025, with completion expected by mid-2026, weather and site conditions permitting.
