A very special moment took place at the Bering Yachts shipyard: the Bering 78, a 23.85-metre shallow-draft steel explorer yacht, touched the water for the first time.

The owner was present at the launch and visibly moved. With tears in his eyes and a wide smile, he warmly thanked the entire Bering team for turning his long-held dream into reality. “This is the boat I’ve been waiting for my whole life,” he said, adding that he can hardly wait for the first sea trials to begin and experience how she feels underway.
The atmosphere on the dock was electric — a rare blend of pride, emotion and shared achievement between the owner, the designers, engineers and craftsmen who brought the project to life over many months.

The Bering 78 is the next logical step after the very successful B70 series. At just under 24 metres, she offers noticeably more volume, flexibility and comfort for both owners and crew, while preserving the core Bering DNA: exceptional seaworthiness, long-range capability and real-world usability.
Powered by twin Cummins QSL 9 engines (285 HP each), the yacht cruises comfortably at 8 knots with a top speed of 10 knots. Her fuel-efficient displacement hull provides a range of more than 3,000 nautical miles, and the shallow 1.45 m draft opens up coastal anchorages and remote bays that are inaccessible to most vessels of similar length.
Externally, the most striking feature is the reverse-raked bow — a design seldom seen at this size. Instead of climbing over waves, the hull cuts cleanly through them, significantly reducing pitching and delivering a noticeably smoother ride in all sea states.

Inside, the fit and finish are contemporary and comfortable, carefully selected materials throughout. The layout offers generous guest and service areas with considerable scope for personalisation — another hallmark of the new Bering approach to design.

The Bering 78 proves once again that you do not need a very large yacht to enjoy genuine explorer capability, serious autonomy and the comfort level of a much bigger vessel. She is built to take her owners anywhere — from shallow lagoons to open ocean — with confidence and style.
