The Discover Boating Australia Dry Stack campaign has officially reached its mid-campaign milestone, marking three months of collaborative industry engagement aimed at increasing awareness of Dry Stack boat storage across Southeast Queensland.

The campaign, led by Zeal Marinas and supported by BIA’s Discover Boating Australia in partnership with six leading marinas, was developed to help boat owners understand the role that the storage solution plays in making boating easier, more accessible, and more sustainable.
Together, Pelican Waters Marina, Scarborough Marina, Redland City Marina, Runaway Bay Marina, and D’Albora Marina’s Pacific Point and East Coast Marina have united to back the campaign which highlights the operational, lifestyle and maintenance benefits Dry Stack storage offers today’s boat owners.
As Australia’s recreational boating sector continues to grow, boat storage infrastructure solutions such as Dry Stack are expected to play an increasingly important role in managing marina capacity, improving vessel accessibility, longevity and usage.
From an industry perspective, improving awareness of these solutions is a key step in supporting the continued growth of recreational boating with the national tally for boat registrations expected to break through the 1 million mark by 2030.
Manager of Scarborough Marina Richard Barrett said, “one of the greatest challenges facing the Dry Stack sector is market awareness. There is a significant and largely untapped demographic of potential boat owners, particularly those living in units or on smaller residential blocks, who simply don’t realise that boat ownership is a viable option for them. Dry Stack storage directly addresses this barrier, effectively opening the door to a new and growing market with every new entrant to boating”.
Richard further explains “importantly, educating this market is beyond the reach of any single operator. That’s why collaborative initiatives like this campaign are so valuable. At Scarborough Marina, we’ve already seen a noticeable increase in these types of enquiries as a direct result of this campaign, reinforcing the importance of a unified industry approach. The benefits extend well beyond Dry Stack operators, supporting broader growth across boat and engine sales, servicing, and maintenance.”
Rather than focusing solely on promotion, the campaign has placed a strong emphasis on education and real-world insight. Through a series of articles, videos, photos and interviews with boat owners, the campaign explores how dry stack facilities operate, and the role that these facilities play in supporting marine infrastructure.
With the campaign passing its halfway point, Discover Boating Australia will continue releasing educational content, owner experiences and marina insights over the coming months.
Thus far, the campaign has gained significant traction across both organic and paid channels – driving over 300,000 users and generating more than 20,000 clicks and continued engagement with campaign resources and content.
The goal remains clear: to give SEQ boat owners the knowledge they need to choose the storage solutions that best suit their lifestyle – supported by the development of an interactive quiz that matches boaters with suitable storage options based on their needs, already guiding over 1.1k users to explore participating marinas.
More information about the Discover Boating Australia Dry Stack campaign, including educational resources and participating marina locations, can be found on the campaign landing page.
