The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) entries for the upcoming 25-26 season are now open with the first races fast approaching.
There are some exciting changes made to the summer racing calendar to ensure there’s something for everyone, including the new Summer Short Offshore Series (SSOS) and the Night Harbour Racing Series.
The Summer Short Offshore Series (September-March) features a mix of five coastal windward/leeward races and six passage races. The series will be open to Spinnaker and Non-Spinnaker boats with multiple divisions each race day. The series also has a double-handed division. The Night Harbour Racing Series is a six-race, non-spinnaker series held once a month on Friday evenings from September to March.
The season will commence with the 27th Monica Geddes Memorial Trophy on Sunday 7th September.
A reminder that all Safety Audits expire each year on 30th June in accordance with General Condition of Racing 5.6. Please contact the Sailing Office to organise an equipment audit prior to the start of the season if you have not yet done so. Boats that do not have a current safety audit or completed the COE will be scored a DNC.
Additionally, IRC Standard is included in the Monday Twilights, Summer Short Offshore Series, Night Harbout Series and Coastal Pointscore. Please apply for your certificates via the Australian Sailing Ratings Office.
