From Racing to Cruising – Australia’s Biggest Sailing Showcase

The Pittwater Sail Expo 2025 will take place from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 October at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC), Newport, and promises to be the biggest sailing only showcase in the country.

Among the headline displays are two highlights sure to attract attention. “Catalina and Italia yachts side by side” will be the theme for Performance Cruising Yachts, with Director Matt Hayes confirming both models will be on show. “The Catalina 426 is a proven favourite with sailors looking for space, comfort and ease of handling, while the Italia 12.98 combines modern European styling with outstanding performance. For us, the Expo is about letting people step aboard, feel the layouts, and imagine how these yachts could fit into their sailing life.”

Visitors will also be invited to “discover Italy’s largest shipyard with three stunning Grand Soleil yachts on display”, as Sydney Marine Brokerage showcases the GS34, GS40 and GS46LC. Importer Andrew Withers said the line up perfectly represents the breadth of the Grand Soleil range. “Each model showcases a different side of the Grand Soleil philosophy, from performance oriented yachts, through to luxurious long distance cruisers. Having all three available to step aboard in one place gives sailors a chance to truly appreciate the depth of the range.”

With over 35 yachts from around the world on display, the Expo offers sailors the unique chance to see, compare, and step aboard everything from high performance monohulls and luxury bluewater cruisers, to the latest generation of catamarans. Entry is free, making it the perfect spring weekend for sailing enthusiasts, families, and those curious to discover life on the water.

Beyond the yachts, visitors will find a bustling onshore precinct of sailmakers, rigging experts, marine electronics suppliers, and service providers, creating a true one stop shop for all things sailing. With spring underway and summer around the corner, the Expo offers countless possibilities to get out on the water this season.

The Pittwater Sail Expo 2025 will run Friday 24 October, 12–4pm, and Saturday 25 to Sunday 26 October, 10am–4pm, with free entry and parking available.
