The Queensland Government has commenced community consultation on upgrade options for the Rocky Point Road Boat Ramp (Winfield), running until Sunday 23 November 2025.
The community will have an opportunity to share the challenges they face when using the current ramp, and their ideas for improving the facility within the investigation area.
Feedback received during this consultation will guide the development of concept design options, playing a vital role in ensuring future upgrades meet boaties’ needs and priorities.
These options will be shared with the community for further input at a later stage. Maritime Safety Queensland will provide an update on the consultation outcomes and next steps in 2026.
The Rocky Point Road Boat Ramp is a key facility for the Winfield community and recreational boaties. However, the current ramp presents challenges, such as its shallow gradient, which can make launching and retrieving vessels difficult.
To address these issues, The Queensland Government is developing a business case to investigate potential upgrades to improve the ramp’s safety, usability and accessibility.
This business case reflects the Queensland Government and Maritime Safety Queensland’s commitment to improving boating infrastructure to support Winfield’s close-knit community and the recreational boaties who rely on the Rocky Point Road Boat Ramp.
Any recommendations from the business case will be considered by the Queensland Government as part of future planning and investment decisions.
