Swan Yacht Club is progressing a major transformation of its marina and riverfront facilities, with a multimillion-dollar wave attenuation and marina development now entering its second stage, alongside the delivery of new lifestyle and event infrastructure on land.

Stage One of the marina development has already been completed, delivering 32 new floating berths constructed by Walcon, the internationally recognised manufacturer of marina pontoons and jetty systems. The works have significantly improved protection for vessels within the marina and strengthened the long-term security and usability of the facility.
Following strong demand for the first release of new berths, Stage Two of the development is now fully funded and underway. The club has secured a total of approximately 8,800 square metres of water lease as part of the overall marina development, providing long-term certainty for future growth.

Stage Two will extend wave attenuation across nearly the entire marina, improving safety, comfort and operational flexibility for berth holders. It will also provide increased protection for existing infrastructure, reducing long-term maintenance requirements and ensuring all pens operate to a consistent standard.
Alongside the marina works, Swan Yacht Club is also undertaking a significant riverfront redevelopment. Construction is well underway on a new green space supported by a $150,000 WA Government PlayOn WA grant. The project has transformed a former dilapidated slipway into a multi-use riverfront precinct designed to support community and commercial events.

The new space has already hosted two major functions, the Swan Yacht Club Melbourne Cup and the Commodore’s Ball, demonstrating its future potential as a key events and activation area overlooking the Swan River. The precinct is designed to accommodate live music, outdoor markets, corporate functions, weddings and private events.
Environmental improvements form a core part of the redevelopment, including new planting zones and the reinstatement of native vegetation to enhance the riverfront landscape and reduce the club’s environmental footprint.

A key feature of the club’s expanding lifestyle offering is the on-water floating sauna operated by Drift Saunas, which has quickly become a popular wellness attraction for members and guests. Located directly on the river, the Drift Saunas experience adds a distinctive relaxation and recovery element to the precinct and complements the club’s broader riverfront activation strategy.
These infrastructure projects are underpinned by a broader long-term master plan and a strong corporate sponsorship program. In 2025, Swan Yacht Club is supported by more than 70 sponsors across marine services, construction, wellness, fresh produce and gourmet food.

Collectively, the marina expansion and riverfront redevelopment position Swan Yacht Club among the most progressive marina precincts on the Swan River, reflecting a wider shift toward integrated boating, lifestyle and event destinations across Western Australia.
