WBD 2026 on Track for Record Number of Global Events Celebrating Life on the Water

World Boating Day (WBD) returns this May with an expanded global programme designed to open up boating to everyone, from curious newcomers to seasoned enthusiasts.

Across 19 countries, a wide mix of companies, organisations and communities will host a selection of events designed to bring boating to life. Get ready for an action-packed lineup, from behind-the-scenes shipyard tours and exhilarating sailing experiences to exhibitions, lively networking events, and hands-on activities the whole family can dive into.

In Spain, a collaboration with the Balearic Marine Cluster brings together Astilleros de Mallorca, STP Shipyard Palma and Club de Mar Mallorca as part of a broader programme across the Balearic Islands, including guided access to shipyard operations, sailing activations, workshops and cultural events.

In Monaco, Cluster Yachting Monaco leads a coordinated line-up featuring Espen Øino, Sanlorenzo MED, La Belle Classe Academy and Monaco Marine, with activities spanning yacht design insights, technical yard visits, educational sessions and waterfront gatherings. Benetti joins from Italy with its “Connecting Excellence” initiative, bringing together emerging design talent and industry experts, while Malta hosts the “Celebrating Life By and On the Water” at the Hotel Excelsior with Q Global Accounting Ltd and Dingli & Dingli, featuring waterside yoga, an informal talk by Vikings Sailing School, and a creative art activity.

Further afield, the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum and Sail to Shelter will deliver hands-on activities in California, including creative workshops to repurpose retired sails into practical items. Meanwhile, Pier Sixty-Six in Fort Lauderdale hosts a family-focused introduction to boating.

In Australia, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show adds its signature mix of innovation and lifestyle, with on-water displays, walkthroughs of the latest vessels, and interactive experiences.

Online, Code\Luxe and BÄMboats join forces for a dynamic digital collaboration that anyone can tap into, wherever they are.

Together, these events reflect the creativity and community behind modern boating, offering a closer look at life on the water. And this is only the beginning, there’s so much more on the way.

World Boating Day 2026 will be celebrated on 23 May, with events taking place throughout the week of 18–24 May.
