LegASea named Australian dealer for Sealegs Amphibious Boats, two decades in the making

LegASea Pty Ltd has been appointed the exclusive dealer for Sealegs International across Australia, excluding Western Australia. The appointment caps a relationship more than twenty years in the making as LegASea director Michael Rigby first started representing Sealegs in Australia in 2005. Helping build the market for the brand’s amphibious boats, long before a dealership itself was on the table for Australia.

That patience has now paid off. For Australian boaters, that means the brand is now represented on their own terms: local ownership, local accountability, and a team who have spent decades learning the country’s coastlines, conditions, and customers, delivering what the LegASea team believe is the best amphibious boating experience money can buy.

Whether ordering a new craft built to specification, sourcing a quality preloved Sealegs, or maintaining an existing one, LegASea is the dedicated point of contact throughout the ownership journey for customers across Queensland, New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria, South Australia, the Northern Territory, and Tasmania, delivering expert advice, genuine support, and long-term confidence for owners who value performance, refinement, and longevity.

“Every new appointment is a vote of confidence in where Sealegs is heading. We are not simply selling craft into more markets — we are building a network of partners who share our standards and our passion for getting people onto the water with less hassle and more freedom,” said Dave Larsen, Global Chief Executive Officer, Sealegs International.

“I have been part of the Sealegs story since 2005, representing the brand in Australia long before this moment was even on the horizon. Watching it grow into what it is today, and now being named the Australian dealer, is the payoff for two decades of patience and hard work. It is a great moment for Australian boaters who want something genuinely unique and practical for the Australian waterways,” said Michael Rigby, Director, LegASea.

About LegASea

LegASea is the authorised Sealegs dealership for Australia, excluding Western Australia. Based in the heart of the Gold Coast’s Marine Precinct in Coomera, the business brings together two families whose combined backgrounds shape how LegASea operates today. Michael Rigby, Natalia Weston, and Robert Weston form the core LegASea team, each bringing a different thread to the business: Michael, a City & Guilds-trained shipwright with more than 40 years in the marine industry, 20 years hands-on with Sealegs, and the relationships run just as deep; Natalia, a Gold Coast local, brings years of executive-level customer relationship experience from aviation and corporate HR; and Robert, with years in commercial media, most recently in Dubai, shapes how the brand is told. Together, that combination of trade, relationship, and storytelling underpins LegASea’s promise: the best amphibious boating experience Sealegs ownership can offer.

About Sealegs International

Sealegs International is the world’s original and largest amphibious boat manufacturer, with more than 1,850 craft delivered across 55+ countries. Its patented system uses motorised, retractable, steerable wheels to let boats drive from storage straight into the water, down a ramp or beach, with occupants remaining completely dry throughout. Once afloat, the wheels retract for normal boating, then lower again as the craft approaches land. Whether used for leisure, commercial operations, emergency response, coastguard, or flood rescue, LegASea provides the local expertise to support every Sealegs throughout its working life.
