Silver Yachts have announced the signing of a new customer order for a unique, custom aluminium explorer catamaran, to be built at its Jiangmen shipyard in China.

The 26-metre project adds a fully custom fast, long-range explorer to Silver Yachts’ growing portfolio of large catamarans. Designed to sustain fast passage speeds over genuinely long distances, it brings this distinctive capability together with the yard’s aluminium construction experience.
Nominally a 26-metre project, with a beam of approximately 12.9 metres and a load line length under 24 metres, the yacht is to be built as a private family yacht for experienced owners intending to cruise throughout the world. Ker Yacht Design developed the yacht’s overall concept and principal general arrangement and is responsible for naval architecture, exterior design and structural engineering. Design
Unlimited has subsequently worked with Ker Yacht Design and the clients to further develop the interior spaces and is responsible for the interior styling and detailed interior design.
Guido Krass, founder of Silver Yachts, commented: “I am delighted that the client chose Silver Yachts for the construction of this unique yacht, which demonstrates our experience and capabilities with large custom catamarans.”
Jason Ker, founder of Ker Yacht Design and the project’s concept developer and naval architect, commented: “This is a genuine explorer, developed for experienced owners intending to cruise extensively and spend long periods away from normal support. We have used advanced CFD and neural-network assisted optimisation to develop the hulls, wave-piercing bows and lifting foil as an integrated hydrodynamic package, combining long-range efficiency with the ability to cover distance quickly when required. The yacht is designed to achieve 2,000 nautical miles at 25 knots, as well as 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots. Together with exceptional storage and tender capacity, including a 7.5-metre enclosed tender carried in a drive-in lifting dock, this gives her an unusual combination of range, speed and practical capability. Silver Yachts’ experience in large aluminium catamaran construction makes them an excellent partner for this ambitious custom project.”
Mark Tucker, Creative Director, Design Unlimited, commented: “We are delighted to be collaborating on such an exciting project. The design centres around creating a home away from home for the clients, supporting both everyday life on board and the freedom to explore some of the world’s most remarkable destinations.”
Construction is scheduled to commence with metal cutting in August 2026, with delivery planned for 2028.
