The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show’s most popular attractions are again set to be a highlight of this year’s 2023 show, being held at the Auckland Showgrounds in Greenlane on May 18-21, 2023.
In addition to all the latest boats, engines, electronics and accessories; the stunning must-be-won Surtees/Yamaha Grand Prize, valued at over $300,000!; and the fascinating Top Catch Master Class free fishing presentations, New Zealand’s largest, longest-running and most popular boat show will again play host to the Fishing and Adventure Fan Zone, including their popular Kids Club; Viking Kayak’s daily kayak giveaways; Lusty & Blundell’s Haswing Trolling Motor Challenge and the Coastguard No Reserve Auction.
The team from Fishing and Adventure, TVNZ ONE’S high-energy fishing show starring renowned fishers and adventurers, Scott Parry and Mig Rumney, will again create an Ultimate Fishing and Adventure Fan Zone. This will again include their super special Fishing and Adventure Kids Club area, with activities for kids of all ages, free membership into the popular Fishing & Adventure Kids Club, and the chance to get a photo with Scott, Mig and the renowned Surtees 8m Holy Ship. There will also be heaps of cool spot prizes to be won, the opportunity to grab some genuine Illicit FANZ merchandise and, best of all, the chance to win the trip of a lifetime with Scott and Mig on Holy Ship!
Major show sponsor, Viking Kayaks, will again be giving visitors to the show the chance to win one of their famous 2+1 kayaks, worth over $2000.
Great for the whole family, and packed with loads of practical accessories, the Viking 2+1 is an incredibly versatile, double-seat family kayak. It is quick and easy to paddle with one or two on board and a clever mid seat makes it safe and easy to add a child, too. Also included in each 2+1 giveaway are two deluxe seats, Propelz eco paddles, Railblaza adjustable rod holders, paddle and rod leashes, a safety flag, and two adult and one child Hutchwilco multi-fit kayak lifejackets.
There are two of these great 2+1 kayak packages to be won each day and entry into the draw is free. Simply head for the Viking Kayak stand in Hall 5 and fill in an entry form.
Long-time show exhibitors, Lusty and Blundell, will again be running their dynamic Haswing Trolling Motor Challenge. Held in the Hutchwilco Pool, the Challenge will see competitors racing to complete a tricky course as quickly as possible, using a Zodiac inflatable powered by a Haswing trolling motor. The person with the fastest time for the completed course will win a comprehensive Zodiac Cadet 360 RIB Alu Light prize package, complete with Suzuki 15hp outboard, custom-made Hosking trailer and a pair of Spinlock Deckvest Lite lifejackets, valued at around $15,000.
As part of the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show’s official partnership with Coastguard, there will again be a No Reserve Auction on the Concourse, outside the main Hall 2 foyer, on the Saturday of the show at 1pm.
All proceeds from the auction will go to Coastguard, the charity saving lives at sea. The products being auctioned will be on display, along with a brief description and their usual retail value, on the Coastguard stand in Hall 4. They will also be listed on the show’s website: www.boatshow.co.nz. Those attending the show on Thursday May 18 or Friday May 19 can also place bids, on the Coastguard stand, in a “silent auction”.
Everyone who buys a ticket (either online at: www.boatshow.co.nz) and attends the 2023 Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show will have the chance to win the most valuable must-be-won prize ever offered at a boat show: a Surtees/Yamaha Grand Prize package valued at over $300,000! Consisting of a Surtees’ Limited Edition 30th Anniversary enclosed cabin 7.5-metre 750 Game Fisher, a latest technology Yamaha F250 V6 DES Offshore series outboard and a game-changing, joy-stick-controlled, fully-integrated Yamaha Helm Master EX boat control system, the prize will sit on a GFAB tandem axle, wirelessly-braked trailer and come complete with a comprehensive suite of Garmin marine electronics.
All tickets bought on-line also automatically go into a separate draw to win a fully kitted out powered Viking Profish Reload kayak package, worth over $8000 and come with a second, bonus entry into the draw for the Surtees/Yamaha Grand Prize, effectively doubling the chances of winning this incredible package.
Thanks to the latest “scan and win” ticket technology being introduced by new show organisers XPO, visitors will also be able to simply register their ticket online or onsite at the numerous iPad registration areas, before scanning their ticket at all 8 of the show’s scanning booths.
