The PSTI Act, which took effect in 2024, is expected to be adopted globally, and mandates that consumer electronics sold meet specific cybersecurity standards to ensure products remain safe and secure during use.
The new DST820 Smart Multisensor is the next evolution of Airmar’s industry-leading technology, replacing the DST810 and introducing PSTI compliance for enhanced onboard network security. With its secure QR-code setup, connecting your DST820 has never been easier or safer. Simply scan the QR code and enter a one-time security password on your mobile device to protect your sensor on the NMEA 2000® network.
Beyond security, AIRMAR has added new features to enhance user control and device performance. Through AIRMAR’s CAST® app, users can now enable, disable, or adjust sensor update rates, including turning off depth reading. Firmware updates and fault logging are also simplified through the app, streamlining support and maintenance. The CAST app also serves as the official platform for reporting any security vulnerabilities.
Additionally, the new DST820-PSTI model features improved power efficiency, with an NMEA 2000 Load Equivalency Number (LEN) of 2, compared to 3 in previous models. It remains fully compatible with existing 2-inch thru-hull fittings, allowing for an easy upgrade path.
