Peninsula Australia announced as exclusive HR Partner of the Marina Industries Association

The Marina Industries Association (MIA) is pleased to announce Peninsula Australia as its HR Partner, strengthening support for members in managing their workforce with confidence and ensuring they are meeting their compliance obligations.

Peninsula Australia is a leading provider of HR and workplace relations services, supporting more than 24,000 Australian businesses across a wide range of industries. This new partnership brings Peninsula Australia’s extensive expertise in human resources, workplace relations, health and safety and employment law to the MIA membership base.

Key services provided by Peninsula Australia include:

  • Tailored and unlimited HR and health and safety advice and documentation services, available 24/7 for a fixed fee
    HR software
  • Legal representation
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and their families

Mark Lawson, Associate Director of Digital Growth at Peninsula Australia, said they are proud to support the marina industry and look forward to working closely with the members of the MIA. “The marinas form a multifaceted ecosystem on their own, while facing a distinct set of HR and WHS challenges. The sector also represents a cultural significance that is deeply embedded in the Australian culture. We are excited to be supporting this unique cohort of businesses, and are confident that Peninsula’s knowledge and expertise, informed by decades of working closely with business owners, will bring tangible benefits for members of the MIA, so they can focus on growing their businesses and building a stronger marina network collectively.

Mark added that marina operations often span a wide range of industries and stakeholders, each managing complex workforce, contracting and health and safety requirements: “From manual handling and the operation of large equipment to managing contractors across multiple sectors, marinas operate in inherently high-risk environments. Peninsula works closely with business owners to simplify these responsibilities by providing clear advice, practical WHS support and ongoing compliance guidance. This will give marina operators confidence they are meeting their obligations while keeping their people safe, supporting the smooth and effective day-to-day running of their operations.”

In its capacity as the MIA’s exclusive HR Partner, Peninsula will provide industry-tailored resources, information and advice to members through webinars, bulletins and a 24/7 service hotline, available through a portal on the MIA website. Members will be able to access discounted pricing on Peninsula service packages if they wish to engage them to manage their HR needs.

The MIA President, Andrew Chapman AM CMM, engaged Peninsula when in his capacity as Chief Operations Officer at Australia’s largest boatyard, Gold Coast City Marina. He found that the support offered by Peninsula enabled him to focus on what was most important to the business, which is providing service to his customers. “Having Peninsula quickly provide clarity around the various awards and legislations our workforce straddles, gave me greater confidence that we were meeting our compliance obligations and doing the right thing by our people. It meant we could continue to focus on building a better business and deliver what the customer needs rather than administering HR compliance”, Chapman explained.

This collaboration underscores the shared commitment of both organisations to supporting professional, sustainable, and well-managed marina businesses across Australia and the wider region.

MIA CEO Suzanne Davies said the partnership reflects the association’s commitment to delivering tangible value to members, “Our members operate in a diverse, highly specialised and often seasonal industry, where workforce management can present unique challenges. Partnering with Peninsula Australia will give our members access to a level of advice and support and exclusive pricing for ongoing services. The MIA has similar partnerships with legal and insurance experts, and it has proven to be an asset to our association.”

All MIA Members will soon begin to engage with Peninsula Australia through industry events, webinars and educational sessions.

Details of all MIA sponsors and partners, along with a Sponsorship Prospectus, can be found on the MIA website.
