Experience in the marine industry would be advantageous but not essential. Would also suit a school leaver who has a passion for the marine industry, power boats or sailing who is seeking to experience working in the marine industry before committing to an apprenticeship.

World class boat builder Haines Hunter is based in the western region of Melbourne. We are seeking an experienced and trade qualified Mechanic who is reliable, flexible, energetic, displays a strong work ethic and ability to work unsupervised as well as part of our busy service department.

We specialise in sales and servicing of boating. This is a rare opportunity for someone with marine mechanical experience to work locally in western Melbourne. Your responsibilities will include working with fit up of new Mercury engines on new boats, servicing of engines and management of our servicing department. Ideally someone who has electronics fit out knowledge.

• Minimum mechanic’s qualification with 1-2 years’ experience in marine servicing.

Marina Administration Assistant 

• Permanent part-time 25 hours per week (flexible)
• Salary pro rata $60,000 PA + superannuation

Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club is looking for a dynamic Administration Assistant to work with the Marina and Facilities team, located in Newport, on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney.

This will be a varied and interesting role and one that will suit someone who is willing to be adaptable, enjoys being hands-on and has a can-do attitude.

Primarily responsibilities include;

• Handling enquiries (face to face and over the telephone)
• Processing casual berth and facility reservations for Club Members and visitors
• Invoicing, receipting insurance and basic database maintenance
• WHS&E and compliance administration
• Maintaining waitlists and general reporting
• Driving customer service and process improvements
• General Marina operations

Critical to your success in this role you will have;

• Customer service experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Administration role
• Excellent organisational, time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Ability to multitask and thrive being busy
• Strong computer literacy (excel, word and database experience)

Tasks & responsibilities

• This fulltime position includes Detailing and Assistance in Assembly.

• You will be working in our After-Care Centre, on repairs and custom fit outs.

• A knowledge of power tools and a keen eye for detail along with a strong passion for boats is mandatory.

Any boat building or marine associated experience will be an advantage to the applicant. A trade background in the spray paint, fibre glassing or Carpentry industry would also prove to be an advantage as will an eye for detail.

Currently we have a position available for a full time Marina Attendant. Reporting to the Marina Manger, we are looking for a self motivated and task focused individual with excellent communication skills to join our unique and dynamic team.

Working 5 days a week from Sunday to Thursday.

• Facility maintenance; cleaning of marina and ensuring our high standards are maintained;
• Up keeping all external areas of the Club grounds;
• Assisting Vessels into their berths;

• Assisting members with refuelling vessels; and
• Ensuring all WHS requirements and Club Policy is adhered to at all times.
