  • Maintain boat registration and requirements necessary for BYS / Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centre accreditation and obligations.
  • Contribute to the provision of excellent customer services to all user groups and stakeholders. This is a customer-facing role.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with BYS OH&S policies and procedures

Key Skills will include

Reporting to the Marina Operations Manager through the Yard and Slipping Coordinator, the Marina and Yard Operator is responsible for the marina operations, maintenance, and slipping at the Blairgowrie Safe Boat Harbour.

Aims of the Position:

  • Implement the daily activities and maintenance of the Blairgowrie Safe Boat Harbour and Yard in a professional and financially astute manner.
  • Ensure all lines of communication are maintained with the Marina Manager at all times.
  • Ensure marina and yard maintenance is performed in accordance to the instructions of the Marina Manager

Key Duties:

  • Liaise with Marina Operations Manager to forecast all daily boat movements, scheduled maintenance and member requirements. Record all activity in our Marina Focus Yard system
  • Perform various yard operations such as:-
    • Erecting and securing fencing to prevent access to work areas other than by authorised contractors
    • High pressure clean boat hulls
    • Prepare and antifoul boat hulls
    • Replace anodes
    • Locating boats safely onto suitable hardstand cradles
    • Maintain log of job costs for invoicing

Perform various club building maintenance activity as required

The ability to work public holidays, summer holidays and weekends

Training will be provided to the successful candidate as required.

Your responsibilities at Floatspace

Reporting to the Product Director, you will be an integral person in the growth of the organisation. The role coincides with our imminent international expansion, building an engineering team around you which can ensure the Floatspace platform becomes the world leader in boating experiences.

To work in this area you will have some experience using hand tools. You may have experience fitting automotive accessories, boat fit out or caravan fit out or in another environment that has required good hand fitting and assembly skills.
