The International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO) has welcomed the Singapore Yachting Festival (SYF) as its newest member, adding one of Southeast Asia’s most distinctive marine events to a global network that now spans every major boating region.

The announcement comes as the industry grapples with a question that has dominated boat show boardrooms worldwide: what does a successful marine event look like in 2026? The Singapore Yachting Festival, running 23–26 April 2026 at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, offers one compelling answer.
This year’s festival moves well beyond vessels on display. Lifestyle elements have been carefully selected to elevate the overall boating experience, both on shore and aboard. A curated Spotlight Zone features masterclasses in wine, whisky, and culinary arts, alongside fireside conversations with Porsche designers. A new Superyacht Wellness Experience explores high-performance living. Daily supercar parades, premium dining and an Experiential Zone offering electric foiling, paddleboarding and underwater propulsion devices round out a programme that treats the marina as a destination, not just a showroom.
It is exactly the kind of model IFBSO members have been exploring. Data presented at the IFBSO Congress 2025 in Palma de Mallorca revealed that only 47% of boat shows have incorporated festival-style programming, despite strong evidence of its appeal to younger audiences. The industry knows it needs to broaden its reach. Shows like SYF are showing what that looks like in practice.

“The Singapore Yachting Festival reflects where many best boat shows are heading,” said Veda Pretorius, Executive Director of IFBSO. “It takes the boating lifestyle seriously as a complete experience, on the water, on land and across generations.”
Jonathan Sit, Show Director of the Singapore Yachting Festival, said: “Against an evolving global backdrop, improved participation at this year’s festival shows that Asia remains a key area of interest for the yachting industry, with Singapore continuing to serve as an important platform for regional engagement. With new elements introduced this year, we are expanding how visitors experience the world of yachting beyond the vessels themselves.”
SYF joins a growing cohort of Asian IFBSO members that includes the Korea International Boat Show, the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show, China (Macau) International Yacht Import & Export Show and the China (Xiamen) International Boat Show, reflecting the federation’s increasing presence in a region widely regarded as one of boating’s most significant growth markets.
IFBSO membership gives SYF access to a global peer network, industry benchmarking data, and participation in the federation’s working groups on sustainability, marketing, technology and diversity. The highly anticipated ICOMIA & IFBSO Congress 2026, will take place in Washington D.C. from 26 – 28 May.
